What to expect on your first visit:
Oculoplastic surgery is the practice of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery to treat a variety of disorders related to the eyelid, brow, forehead, tear drainage system, and eye socket.
We make sure all our patients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first visit, a technician will perform a basic eye screening, including a vision check. You will then meet Dr. Nguyen who will perform a full consultation to address your needs. Many patients present for surgical evaluation to improve visual function from droopy or baggy eyelids. To address functional or cosmetic concerns, Dr. Nguyen believes in an interactive approach by showing and explaining to patients the areas that can be improved with medical and surgical options. She believes in achieving a natural appearance while also preserving and improving vision. Given that each individual has a unique facial structure, patients are encouraged to bring in photos of themselves at a younger age to help evaluate areas of the face that have changed over time, discuss areas that can be improved, determine patient expectations, and discuss medical and surgical options to achieve these expectations.
If surgery is deemed appropriate, Dr. Nguyen will then take photographs of your face from different angles which will be used for surgical planning. Any other testing required for insurance purposes, such as visual field testing, will also be performed. From there, you will meet with one of Dr. Nguyen's surgical schedulers to discuss financial options, surgical locations, and available surgical dates.
Dr. Nguyen sees patients in clinics at 4 different locations, Nashville, Franklin, Columbia, and Murfreesboro, and operates at multiple surgical centers in each of these locations.
